Franchise

If you’re looking for a normal ‘man with a van’ franchise opportunity, look away now...

...but if you’d like a ready-made blueprint from which to shape, build, develop and grow your own successful business in double-quick time, then read on!

Building any successful business takes time... lots of it!

It takes time...

  • ...to spot that magic gap in the market
  • ...to research exactly what customers want
  • ...to devise and develop your product or service
  • ...to refine it, and get it just right
  • ...to set up your premises and define your processes
  • ...to create your brand, and let customers know all about it

...And that’s all before you can serve your first customer, make your first sale and earn your first £!

As a business-minded entrepreneur, if you can spare all the time needed to develop your own business idea from scratch, get ready for years of hard graft!

Well, this exciting new business opportunity means you can now do just that.

Quite simply, when you choose a regional franchise from Caterquip UK, we’ve done all the hard graft groundwork, so you don’t have to!

Well, we did say it wasn’t a normal franchise opportunity!

ABOUT DOMINIC RICCIARDI

Introducing Dominic Ricciardi – Founder and MD of Caterquip UK

“Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.” Peter Drucker

The brainchild of entrepreneur Dominic Ricciardi, Caterquip UK was established in 1996. Dominic was working in the catering industry at the time, and was suddenly faced with an urgent need to replace several major kitchen appliances, all at the same time. Buying new simply wasn’t an option due to the massive costs involved, so Dominic set about trying to source what he needed second-hand instead.

It wasn’t easy!

“It was hard enough finding the right equipment in the first place. And even if I was lucky enough to stumble across something I needed, it was normally in a sad state of repair, in need of a complete overhaul, and I had no idea whether it would last for five years or five minutes once I got it back to my place,” explains Dominic.

That set him thinking – there was clearly a gap in the market to be exploited! Caterquip UK was born, and the rest, as they say, is history.

“Now, with the Credit Crunch really biting hard, the massive cost of buying brand new equipment is simply out of reach for even the largest of organisations. This means we’re now busier than ever, with more and more customers realising that at Caterquip UK, we offer a viable, trusted and much cheaper alternative,” adds Dominic.

Founding Caterquip, and turning it into a cash-rich niche company with an annual turnover in excess of £1.3m, has literally transformed Dominic’s life, and he’s rightly proud of what he’s achieved.

“For the first few years I didn’t take any holidays at all, but now I’m reaping the rewards. This year, I enjoyed a fortnight in the Caribbean, and 6 weeks touring Europe with my family. But even when I’m away, I still keep tabs on what’s happening at work via email and online of course!”

Home life has improved beyond all recognition too – starting out in a 3-bed semi, Dominic now lives in a £0.75m, 5-bedroom listed building that he’s renovated from scratch.

Dominic now employs 14 staff, and the business has grown year-on-year, even during the recession. By employing skilled and motivated senior managers with vision, he’s been able to free up his time to diversify into other business areas, including property development.

Caterquip’s investment

At Caterquip, we’ve invested around £75k over the past few years into developing our regional franchise programme, with further investment of nearly £180k planned over the next two years. This significant commitment guarantees each franchisee the individual support and back-up they need to build their own successful regional Caterquip business, including a dedicated franchise operations support team.

Additional recent investments that will have a direct positive impact on our franchisees include £112k to increase our central warehousing storage capacity to 25,000 square feet, and £50k spent on website development and SEO.

EARNING OPPORTUNITIES

How will I make my money?

You’ll make your money from the multiple earning opportunities from selling all the different products and services in your chosen territory. Your initial training will include full details of the relative sales values and margins involved, helping you to work towards the optimum business mix to maximise your returns. The advantage of our product range is that you can sell multiple products and services to the same customer, generating regular earnings from sales of sundries, cleaning products and servicing contracts, as well as benefitting from the less frequent bigger ticket transactions like sales of new or reconditioned appliances.

How much money could I make?

The great news is that potential earnings from running a Caterquip UK regional franchise are literally unlimited. And rest assured that it’s in our interest for you to do as well as possible, so we’ll do everything in our power to help you to achieve the full earning potential in your chosen territory.

But it’s like anything in life – the more effort you and your team put in, the more rewards you can reap.

If you exploit all possible streams of revenue and work hard to build your territory presence and reputation, our conservative revenue projections for a typical regional franchise are:

  • Year 1: Turnover of £150k-£225k (net profit £30k-£45k)
  • Year 2: Turnover of £350k-£450k (net profit £70k-£90k)
  • Year 3: Turnover of £400k-£650k (net profit £80k-£130k)
